Take part in an alternative way to spend your weekend, winter, spring, or summer break! The University of Kentucky Alternative Service Breaks program is pleased to announce our weekend service trips, as well as our, winter, spring, and summer break service immersions. We hope you will join us as a volunteer for one of our UK ASB programs this year.

 

Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 Weekend Service Trips

In Fall 2014 and Spring 2015, UK ASB will send a team of UK students to the Center for Courageous Kids in Scottsville, Kentucky to volunteer as weekend camp counselors for kids with extraordinary medical needs and their families. For more information, click here.

2015 Winter Break Service Immersion

January  3-10, 2015, UK ASB will send a team of students to Jinotega, Nicaragua to address the issue of Global Youth Empowerment through the non-profit organization, Outreach360. For more information, click here.

Trip Cost: $1,850/Student (All-Inclusive).

 

2015 Spring Break Service Immersions

During UK’s Spring Break 2015, UK ASB will send 6 teams of students to communities throughout the U.S. and around the world, to address social and environmental issues that will include:

  • David, KY: Poverty in Appalachia
  • Atlanta, GA: Refugee Resettlement
  • Washington, DC: Hunger and Homelessness
  • New Orleans, LA: Disaster Relief
  • Silver Springs, FL: Animal Conservation
  • Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic: Global Youth Empowerment
  • Santo Domingo, Ecuador: Global Public Health

2015 Summer Break Service Immersion

UK ASB is pleased to announce its second annual summer break service immersion, a two-week program in Accra, Ghana working to address the issue of Global Youth Education through the non-profit organization, Ubelong. For more information, click here.
