Take part in an alternative way to spend your weekend, winter, spring, or summer break! University of Kentucky Alternative Service Breaks is pleased to announce our weekend, winter, spring, and summer break service immersions. We hope you will join us as a volunteer for one of our 10 10 UK ASB programs this year!

Spring 2014 Weekend Service Trip

In Spring 2014, UK ASB will send a group of UK students to the Center for Courageous Kids in Scottsville, Kentucky to volunteer as weekend camp counselors for kids with extraordinary medical needs and their families.

Trip Cost: TBD (All-Inclusive). More Information Coming Soon!

2014 Winter Break Service Immersion

January 4-11, 2014, UK ASB will send a group of UK students to Jinotega, Nicaragua to address the issue of Global Youth Empowerment through the non-profit organization, Outreach360. For more information, check out the 2014 Winter Service Break Trip tab. This event will take place January 4-11th , 2014.

Trip Cost: $2,000/Student (All-Inclusive). 

2014 Spring Break Service Immersions

March 15-22, 2014, UK ASB will send 6 teams of students to communities throughout the U.S. and around the world, to address social issues that will include:

  • David, KY: Poverty in Appalachia
  • Atlanta, GA: Refugee Resettlement
  • Washington, DC: Hunger and Homelessness
  • New Orleans, LA: Rebuilding After Katrina
  • Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic: Global Youth Empowerment
  • Santo Domingo, Ecuador: Global Health and Wellness

Trip Costs: Vary by Trip (All-Inclusive). 

2014 Summer Break Service Immersion

UK ASB is pleased to announce its first-ever summer break service immersion, a two-week program in Accra, Ghana working to address the issue of Global Youth Education through the non-profit organization, Ubelong.

 Trip Cost: $3,150/Student (All-Inclusive).
